The Littleton Twilight Crit

Criterium racing is an exciting format of bicycle racing involving short courses, high speeds, tight turns, crashes and spectators right in the action. The Littleton Twilight Crit takes place in the downtown neighborhood and features a full day of races from amateurs to the elite pro teams that travel the USA Crit circuit. This past summer I brought my camera and a borrowed lens to capture the action during the professional races.

Heavy rains were the topic of discussion as the women toed the line for their race. While the rain subsided for start of the race, the ladies crossed the finish line in a downpour. The men started shortly after that, and had to withstand the deluge for the entirety of their race. As a casual crit racing fan, L39ION of LA seems to dominate the course often, and this race was no different. They kept the pace and excitement high as they cruised to the podium in both races.
